“I loathe exercise; to such an extent that I’m convinced I must have been carried around on a daybed being fed grapes and fine wine in one of my previous lives. I am however, vain enough to want to ‘pass’ in a bikini and thus my aspirational self and the lazy, layabout, procrastinating version of me have waged a long-term battle. Over the years, gym memberships, personal trainers and a variety of equipment have come and gone, and the only casualty has been my wallet. Finally however, a victory may be in sight! I discovered reformer Pilates in late January and have now completed 20 classes. For once in my life, I’ve found an exercise I absolutely love – I can honestly say that I would workout with the reformer daily if I could. Although I have yet to lose the extra stone I’m carrying around, my body shape has changed a lot. My tummy is flatter, my outer thighs slimmer and I’ve generally toned up everywhere. I have also witnessed a similar evolution in my classmates although I do believe results are accelerated in direct proportion to the number of classes you can fit in. I have no hesitation in recommending the Performance Pilates studio in Rathfarnham. The instructors are terrific, the prices competitive, studio lovely and the results make the extra few bob very worthwhile. I look forward to every class here and from me that is high praise indeed“. “Training on the Reformer is really working I am actually feeling and seeing the results already and its fun as well. I am very impressed with the workout, if I had to specify the single most important aspect I have learned from using these machines it would be that they train you to do the exercises correctly. I have always been interested in keeping myself fit, and have in the past taken advice from the “so called experts” but saw no particular improvement in fitness or health. But when I started going to the Pilates Performance Studio and took the Reformer classes I saw a huge improvement in my flexibility, balance and core strength. The instructors here are second to none and every movement is being carefully monitored and tapered to the individual’s personal fitness level. I was in a car accident a couple of years ago and have gone through the mill with physiotherapists / chiropractors etc., and have explored every avenue to try to get my fitness level back again. Since starting on the Reformer my spine alignment has improved vastly resulting in a vast improvement in my golf game.
